General What is the first thing you do when you start a new game?

Any time I open a new strategy game, the first thing I did wasnt even looking the tutorial, I went straight to the settings to reduce the graphics 😂. My laptop is not a gaming beast.🤣 It's of low spec. Then I checked the controls. After that, I would zoom the map and admire things before the...

General The Best Tactical Turn-Based Game of All Time?

XCOM is the undisputed king. It's a good game, yes but it's too dependent on RNG. The strategy games are supposed to reward planning more than luck. Sometimes you play a perfect game, but still get punished. That one is never a pure strategy again. There are other games that balance skill and...

General What’s the Toughest Turn-Based Tactics Game?

Some indie tactics games will frustrate you more. Difficulty is not only about stress, some games are quick to punishing your mistakes. some games don't even give room to recover at all. Darkest Dungeon still get structure compared to some madness out there.

General Do You Prefer Fixed or Random Hit Chances in Turn-Based Games?

I don't really like fixed chances. The randomness give the game life. The unpredictabilty can be painful sometimes but it create tension. If everything is predictable, it would feel less instresting.

News Drill Rift: Dwarves, Dice, and Deadly Deep Mining Arrive on Steam

Managing people is harder? nahh 😅 I prefer that than those boring base building. At least the human element is very unpredictable. That is more engaging than just watching structures upgrade slowly.

News War Mongrels: Guerrilla Tactics and Brutal Eastern Front Action Arrive on Switch

The “realistic war” thing is not always interesting. I don't need a game that would depress me. I tried one war game like that, I just got tired. sometimes exaggeration and fun mechanics makes the game enjoyable. realism is not everything.

News A New World Expansion Hits Total War: EMPIRE Mobile on September 18

More factions do not solve the core problem. If the gameplay loop is weak, even 100 factions will not change anything. The devs are using quantity to cover up for lack of depth. They fail to realise that great mechanics is what keeps the game alive, not just adding more options.

General Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era Adds the Schism Faction

I think the “different factions equals better game” talk 😅 sometimes is imbalance disguised as creativity. I remember one RTS where one faction dominates, no strategy whatsoever . Modern players do not tolerate that kind of thing. This means that balance surpasses uniqueness sometimes.

General How can a newbie develop interest in RTS games?

Starting with the campaign is not a compulsory path 😅. Some of us learn faster under pressure. I jumped straight into multiplayer that time, I lost but I improve quickly. Campaigns are sometimes too slow, you would just be bored.

General Which RTS games do you think should make a comeback?

This Generals comeback talk is tiring truly. We need to face reality 😅, some games belong to their time. if they bring it now, people will still complain. It's better they create new IP that is fresh than forcing old names that would disappoint.

News Falling Frontier - Close Combat

I don't believe that every RTS games should be challenging. Once a game is too detailed, casual players will just bounce. I tried one “deep” space game before, spent 20 mins just setting up before the first fight. All that realism is just a waste of effort.

News March of Giants Enters Closed Alpha September 2, 2025

I tried mixing two genres before, but it was tiring. You would want to control the hero, manage army, think about the strategy. All of that at once can be overwhelming. Not every player can multitask.

General Broken Arrow Review Bombing Over SEAD Ban Drama Is a Mess – Here's What Happened

I think the gamers are right. That's the only power they have to nail the developers. If devs mess up, reviews is the only language they understand. Yes, I understand that some people overdo it, but without that pressure, many devs will not fix anything.

General Moduwar Launches into Early Access – June 3

Most of the developers are busy chasing originality, they forgot that the gameplay must make sense. I prefer games with nice gameplay and familiar system that works.

General STRATEGOS | ANNOUNCEMENT TRAILER | CRITICAL MOVES

Thousands of units are not always interesting. The smaller battles are more tactical at times. Too many units can just turn into a serious confusion,

General How did you play the StarCraft II campaigns?

It's not by force to follow the order like it's a textbook 😂. Sometimes starting from the middle even makes you more curious. Gaming is suppose to be flexible and fun. Not a chore.

    General Falling Frontier

Too much realism kills the enjoyment. You could spend 30 minutes arranging your supplies and one little mistake could spoil everything. Games are suppose to give you an escape, not to add another level of pressure.

    General Sanctuary: Shattered Sun

Sometimes, the devs would add certain features just to look smart and at the end, it's a confusion. Strategy doesn't always have to be complicated

Mods C&C Steam Workshop Support & Source Code

Giving community the source code is not always a blessing. I remembered the mod I install sometimes ago and it spoiled my save file. Sometimes the devs need control, not full freedom. If everybody start tweaking the core of the systems, the balance will disappear.

General Which Upcoming RTS Has You Most Excited?

Sometimes it's the simple RTS game that you just build and fight is where the real fun is. Everything must not be too challenging. So, just give me a fast-paced action, I’m ok. Those styles that makes you overthink can push casual players away.
